The first time is typically the most intense; subsequent waxes become easier as hair grows back finer. To minimize discomfort: avoid caffeine before your appointment (it heightens sensitivity), take an over-the-counter pain reliever 30–45 minutes prior, and schedule after your period (sensitivity is lower mid-cycle).
